I was already mad when he took a sip of water. 😬 Kev and I have opposite brains. I am always thinking two steps ahead with a goal to optimize efficiency. I create and execute our kids’ schedules and I am always on time. Kev lives in the moment. He is 💯 focussed on the task at hand and does not move on to the next thing until he has completed the first. He is often late but he is fully invested in whatever he is doing NOW. (As a physician, it probably bodes well for his patients because they have his undivided attention!) After 23 years together you’d think we would have reached some middle ground…but no. Our brains are hardwired and unchangeable. What we can control is how we treat each other - perhaps with more grace and patience on my part and more thoughtfulness on his. That’s the beauty and challenge of marriage: recognizing what you cannot control and choosing to accept the other person as they are.
